7 litre wood-fired copper samovar

7 litres is the middle size for when 5 litres is not enough but 10 litres is too much: mid-sized families, small groups of guests and long tea conversations in the garden, on the balcony, at a country house or on a picnic.

On both of our 7 litre models the fire base at the bottom detaches from the body. The body is 99.9% copper, tin-lined inside, and the fire burns wood in the central chamber.

Polished vs oxidised 7 litre

  • Polished 7 litre: classic copper colour; the outside darkens over time and can be refreshed with copper polish.
  • Oxidised 7 litre: a dark, smoky surface that has been darkened on purpose; it is not polished – wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.

Why a removable fire base helps

Because the fire base comes off, the ash is easy to empty once the samovar has cooled completely. You can also carry the body and the base separately, which makes loading the car and storing it easier.

Is 7 litres right for you?

If you mostly use it with the family and host guests now and then, 7 litres is a balanced choice. For bigger groups look at the 10 litre models with two teapots; for just a few people, the 5 litre models. Our “what size samovar” guide helps if you cannot decide.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 7 litre samovar come with a teapot?

Teapot information is given on each product page. We also sell 1.4 and 2 litre copper samovar teapots separately.

How do you clean an oxidised samovar?

The oxidised surface is not polished and no metal polish is used; wiping it with a soft, dry cloth is enough.
